How a commission runs
Clay to creature
- 01 · Concept
Design
Bring a character, a sketch or a half-formed idea. We agree on a design before any clay moves.
- 02 · Sculpt
Sculpt
Clay or foam, built up to full detail on a head form or on a lifecast of you.
- 03 · Mold
Mold
A rigid stone mold or a lighter silicone mold, chosen for what the piece needs to do.
- 04 · Cast
Cast
Silicone for fit and expression. Latex for large, light pieces.
- 05 · Finish
Finish
Airbrushed paint, weathering and hand-punched hair until it reads right on camera.
The studio
A small shop at Western Avenue Studios
Wretched Hive Creations is Bob and a workbench in Lowell's Western Avenue Studios. We take a character from sketch to finished paint, and we take suggestions well.
Bob takes suggestions well and is amazing with artistic talents.
