Questions
Pricing, turnaround, fit and materials. Anything else, just ask.
How much does a custom mask cost?
Every piece is quoted individually based on size, material and finish. Send us the character, reference photos and your deadline and we will reply with a quote. We take 50% when the order is placed and the remaining 50% when it is finished.
How long does a custom mask take?
Typical turnaround is 8 to 12 weeks, depending on the queue and the complexity of the piece. If you have a convention, shoot or event date, tell us up front so we can plan around it.
Should I choose silicone or latex?
Silicone is best for custom-fitted, expressive pieces that move with your face, and it lasts longer. Latex is lighter and works better for large masks and creatures that don't need much movement.
Will a mask fit my head?
Our standard masks fit most adult heads measuring about 21 to 23 inches around. For a true custom fit, we can take a lifecast at the studio.
Do you offer lifecasting?
Yes. We cast heads, faces, hands and bodies in person at our studio in Lowell, Massachusetts. Email info@wretchedhivecreations.com to book a session.
Can you paint a mask I bought somewhere else?
Yes. We paint and weather masks, appliances and props from other makers.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. International shipping and insurance are paid by the customer and vary with local rates.
Can you make the parts you don't do in silicone or latex?
For metalwork, 3D printing, vacuforming and sewn goods, we work with local artisans and can connect you with them.
Will the mask give me the character's powers?
Yes, as soon as you sign the waiver.
